Wise Ape Tea to Sponsor the Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2016

Wise Ape Tea is pleased to announce we'll be sponsoring the 2016 Portland Retro Gaming Expo which takes place October 21 - 23.

What is the Portland Retro Gaming Expo?

The PRGE is a kick ass retro gaming event designed to bring awareness and appreciation back to the classic console and arcade style games. The event was first created in 2006 and exists as a non-profit cooperative organization, which not only creates an awesome annual fun filled event, but the organization also gives back to a few local charities.

Wise Ape will also be sponsoring The Classic Tetris World Championship, which will be taking place at PRGE. Tetris players from around the world, including top players from Japan and Finland, will be competing to see who is truly the max out master. Our very own Wise Ape fueled Jake Stein will be aiming to shake things up in the Tetris world as he makes his first appearance since 2014 - where he ranked 16th in the world. The CTWC will be streamed live through Twitch! Tune in to see if the 2015 winner and 5 time champion Jonas Neubauer can hold on to his CTWC crown!

Custom Wise Ape Gift Boxes

To support both events Wise Ape has donated 30 plus custom gift boxes, which include some limited edition retro themed swag, custom knick knacks, and the first ever sample of the soon to launch Chocolate Hustle Tea. We also had a blast creating a limited run of custom NES stash boxes. We converted original NES cartridges into our Super Space Ape game, which also opens to reveal stickers and our Chocolate Hustle tea samples. You can check it out here.

Wise Ape will also be running a free Snapchat contest where PRGE event attendees will have the chance to win a free Nintendo Entertainment Classic System (Mini NES). At the Portland Retro Gaming Expo, Snapchat users will notice custom PRGE Wise Ape filters which can be used in the Snapchat app. Attendees can screenshot themselves using the filter, post the photo and tag Wise Ape (@WiseApeCo) on Instagram, and they're automatically entered into the drawing.
